At The Opportunity Pavilion, you will embark on a globe-spanning “Mission Possible” to help achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, showing how everyone has the power to make a difference.

From your “mission briefing” onward, you will connect with three inspiring people in their quests to unlock opportunity. They will take you to their communities in the UAE, Peru, and Zanzibar and – through storytelling and gameplay – you will learn how small actions have a big impact.

This striking pavilion consists of a low-slung, earth-toned brick façade topped with a dozen translucent mesh and metal structures that resemble boxy clouds carefully balanced on one another. It builds on the rich urban history of the plaza and its universal significance as a place for people to connect.

At Expo 2020, sustainability is an urgent, attainable reality, and Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion is the proof. Both immersive exhibition space and exemplar of environmental self-sufficiency, Terra is a pioneering piece of architecture that pushes the limits of renewable design.

The pavilion’s 130-metre-wide solar canopy – so vast that you could park 10 city buses head-to-tail atop it – converts sunshine into electricity for the exhibits below. Artfully funnelled natural light and local plant species, together with technologies that can reduce water consumption by 75 per cent, show the way to a sustainable future.

Terra is a super-sized marvel of forward-thinking design. The pavilion’s technology generates enough energy in a year to power a Nissan Leaf to drive halfway to Mars, while another system captures moisture from the air you breathe and turns it into drinkable water. Children's Adventure Tour: Sustainability Pavilion with Robot Guardian Terra

Zara Rutherford, a 19-year old British-Belgian pilot, is attempting to become the youngest woman to fly solo around the world. Joined by special guests Aysha Alhameli, the UAE’s first female pilot, and Marwa Al Matrooshi, the first female Emirati Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO), Zara will be talking about how to encourage girls and young women to pursue their career dreams, particularly in the fields of STEM and aviation. The panel will be discussing the Gender Gap in relation to both career fields and also celebrating the achievements of female Emiratis in the UAE's 50 years. They will also hear more inspiring stories from Emirati pioneers in Aviation, who will share their experiences and struggles.

In February 1968, this nation's founding fathers met under a desert tent and shared an idea that would turn into something truly great: the United Arab Emirates. With a design inspired by the tent where the UAE was conceived, the pavilion showcases social innovations conceived to improve our lives. Come and meet ordinary people doing extraordinary things – and be inspired to join our global community.

Designed by renowned Emirati architect Ahmad Abdulrahman Bukhash, The Good Place’s structure expands the Bedouin tent shape into an elegant white canopy, folded with seven origami-like angles on each side to join at a tall peak. The tent seems to float over a clean, glass box.

The breathtaking lakes and forests of Finland are famous for their beautiful coats of pure snow, and for Expo 2020, the Scandinavian land has added its wintry colours to the Dubai desert. Blending Middle Eastern tradition with Nordic flair, the Finland Pavilion casts a white blanket of snow over a Bedouin-inspired tent, all with a warm heart within.

Inside, beyond the pavilion’s striking “snow cape”, you’ll explore a circular storyline of exhibits on Finnish values, from sustainable technologies to the welfare society. But don’t miss the serene central “gorge”, an elegantly designed refuge for peace and reflection.

The Finland Pavilion is a large cube-shaped tent designed to look like it’s coated with a blanket of snow. The structure’s outer façade is made of a white fabric that is stretched over a steel framework. The soaring triangular entryway in its centre has been perfectly cut to resemble the pulled-back flaps of an Arabian tent.

Inspired by British physicist Stephen Hawking, who challenged humanity to ponder how we might express ourselves to alien civilisations, the UK Pavilion invites visitors to contribute to a unique linguistic experiment. While exploring this cone-shaped structure, which showcases the UK’s contributions to space science and artificial intelligence, you can add your own words to the pavilion’s neural network. A language-generating algorithm then processes these entries into an ever-changing “poem” that will be displayed on the pavilion’s LED façade, providing an inspiring collective message to Expo 2020, our planet and maybe even worlds beyond.

The awe-inspiring UK Pavilion is an epic, 20-metre-tall, cone-shaped structure compiled of rows of horizontal timber slats that stretch forward to create a circular form. The end of each slat houses a LED panel that emits phrases that link to form an ever-changing interstellar message crafted by artificial intelligence and Expo visitors.

In our rapidly digitising online age, the real and virtual worlds blur together more and more every day. With its futuristic honeycomb design and deeply immersive experience, the Serbia Pavilion at Expo 2020 gives us a dazzling preview of the hyper-virtual world of tomorrow.

The pavilion experience combines visionary holographic and virtual-reality exhibits with a panoramic tour of Serbia’s heritage. Create your own digital avatar and explore the nation’s Neolithic Vinča culture, get up close and personal with legendary Serbian innovators such as Nikola Tesla, survey Serbian panoramas and much more.

The Serbia Pavilion resembles a sharp white crystal jutting high into the sky. The exterior of the structure is composed of flat triangular surfaces, with glowing white edges which grow in size as they climb toward a high, blade-like point. The entire building pitches at an angle, creating an overhang above an entry courtyard. Digital lights adorn the pavilion’s underside, adding to the futuristic feel.

The South African word "ubuntu" encompasses a spirit of shared humanity and working toward a common good. The concept infuses this diverse nation’s pavilion, which surrounds you with South Africa’s wealth of natural wonders, rich heritage, and creative, innovative spark. At once a mining industry powerhouse, a sports hub, and a tourism destination, the country brims with adventures: go on a wildlife safari, spy whales off its rugged coast, or move to the beat of Cape Town music. Play on interactive displays that share how the country is using ubuntu in its approach to industrialisation, through human-centred and sustainable initiatives.
